The Bamboo Bar had come into existence in 1876 under the name Oriental Hotel. The hotel shows a specimen of the grand hotels that existed in Asia during the nineteeth century. It had originally been constructed as a luxury hotel and catered to the new trade that had then emerged between Far East and Europe. In the years that precede the hotel underwent several expansion programs. The facade has a timber shutter and there is an arrangement for outdoor seating. The teak timbers in the interior evoke a typically traditional feel. The bar is primarily popular because of its classic cocktails.
